Online Therapy FAQs - Ana Vidal Counselling

Due to the impact of COVID-19, Canary Wharf Counselling Service now works exclusively online with individuals

The good news is online therapy can be as effective as face-to-face counselling sessions.

If you’ve never participated in online therapy, you may have some questions about how it works.

This page gives answers for the most frequently asked questions about online therapy.

Yes, More than 30 years of research shows that online therapy is as effective as face to face therapy. Many of my clients prefer online therapy as it is convenient to them doing a therapy session from any location and still get the benefits of a regular in-person therapy session.

Does online counselling / online therapy really work? -->

No. Technology and video conferencing are so developed now that it feels like sitting in the room with your therapist. The streaming of video and sound are normally so good, that there is no lag  in the interaction with your therapist.

Isn't face-to-face interaction lost in online therapy? -->

Yes, the platforms we use are safe and secure. Communication is 100% encrypted between the users so your counselling session remains confidential and cannot be accessed by anyone other than therapist and client.
